About
We, the students of Bryn Mawr College, are declaring an on campus strike both in solidarity with the Haverford College strike and in recognition that BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, people of color) students at Bryn Mawr have experienced similar historical anti-Black violence, institutional racism, silencing, and instances of white supremacy. While we strike in solidarity, we also strike to dismantle systemic oppression in the Bryn Mawr community.
We expect for the administration to be transparent with the Bryn Mawr Community on how these demands will be met. The strike will not cease until Bryn Mawr’s administration establishes an effective timeline and budget plans for how these demands will be met, and how they will account to deconstruct the oppressive systems that marginalize members of Bryn Mawr’s BIPOC community. Should these demands continue to be neglected, further disruption will occur.
